Climate and Culture Focus Group Evening Session

During the past two years our school district has experienced a significant increase in diversity related issues including racial bias.

Our school district places a priority on creating and maintaining an environment that values diversity and fosters inclusiveness. Therefore, we are dedicated to enhancing the school culture and climate.

This is the second year of a multi-year district goal focusing on enhancing school climate / culture. Last year we focused on identifying our needs.

This year, our activities are focusing on cultural responsiveness training for our school community and garnering insight / perception from all stakeholders. As part of this effort, we are providing parents a forum to offer their insight on how their child is experiencing school as it relates to diversity and inclusion in the district.

Our school district will be hosting a parent focus group to garner this insight. We are arranging for the Institute of Student Achievement to facilitate the focus groups. We value everyone’s feedback and time. Therefore, we will be holding multiple sessions including times in the A.M. and a P.M. session.
